Ancient-Medieval
Kakatiya & Early Settlements

Bahmani & Vijayanagara Period
The region passed through the control of the Bahmani Sultanate and later the Qutb Shahi dynasty of Golconda. Trade routes through the Deccan brought gradual settlement and growth.

Nizam's Hyderabad

Nagarjuna Sagar Dam Construction
The construction of Nagarjuna Sagar Dam and its Left Canal transformed the region's agricultural economy, enabling large-scale paddy cultivation and supporting Miryalaguda's rice-milling identity.
2014
Formation of Telangana State
Miryalaguda became part of the newly formed state of Telangana when it was carved out of Andhra Pradesh. The city embraced its Telangana identity and the cultural pride of the new state.
